Dear Brothers and Sisters in Carmel,

As we abandon ourselves to the comforting love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in this month of June, let us rededicate ourselves to this beautiful devotion. There are many books and recommendations, but it is also a very fruitful exercise to just come to Jesus in stillness and let Him enfold us in His loving embrace. When we need solace, consolation, renewal and encouragement in life, let us go to the one place where we shall find it.

Our meeting day this month, falls on the wonderful feast of Corpus Christi, SUNDAY 7TH JUNE.

PLEASE NOTE: Our meeting format will be slightly altered.

This is to accommodate our attendance at the Eucharistic Procession for the feast of Corpus Christi, at OUR LADY OF VICTORIES CHURCH at 2:30pm, joining Bishop Michael, the Priests of the Diocese and the lay faithful.

Diocesan Eucharistic Procession & Holy Hour - Christchurch. Sunday 7th June 2026, 2.30-4pm @ Our Lady of Victories Church, Sockburn.
Diocesan Eucharistic Procession & Holy Hour - Christchurch. Sunday 7th June 2026, 2.30-4pm @ Our Lady of Victories Church, Sockburn.

This replaces Father’s talk, and we shall leave from Carmel no later than 2pm. To facilitate this, our meeting will commence at 12:30pm. (Formation time as usual 12 noon.)

Our St John of the Cross #4 study will need to be shortened so please prepare it beforehand so we can share our thoughts and insights without reading the whole text at the meeting.

Reminder: – Bethany Day is in recess for the winter months. We shall review it in the Spring and adapt it to the needs of our Community.

And an advance notice for July: Mass with Bishop Michael for the feast of Our Lady of Mt Carmel, will be on Sunday 19th July at Carmel. Further information in July Newsletter and email.

May God bless you all with good health over winter. Keep warm and stay close to Jesus and His most Sacred Heart, burning with love for us.
