Pope Francis has declared 2025 a Jubilee Year, with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope”. It is of great importance and held for the forgiveness of sins and the punishment due to sin. The Door represents reconciliation and forgiveness of sins. Those entering through the Holy Door may gain the plenary indulgences attached with the Jubilee celebrations through Confession, Communion and prayer for the Pope’s intentions.
You may ask why have I quoted Isaiah “people who walked in darkness have seen a great light” ? I have been very moved to see throughout the world the large numbers entering the Church, the increase in seminarians, religious etc., it’s a wonderful sight. We have our own example, look at our November 2024 Retreat and those who joined us in such numbers, without much advertising – just Our Blessed Lord planting the desire within them and their response.
Our charism is Prayer, and may we in this Jubilee Year of Hope be even more faithful in our daily lives to the gift Jesus has gratuitously given us:
The call to be a Secular Carmelite.
