Dear Friends in Carmel,
November is a special time to remember all those who have died, especially in Mass intentions. We especially remember Peb Simmons and Roseline Closel, members of our Community who have died recently.
Only a few weeks away from our Carmel retreat 15th – 17th November with Fr Adalbert, OCD from Perth, and we have had many enquiries. Each year the numbers grow as we stretch the tent pegs! There will be around 50 retreatants, and it certainly shows people want to spend a silent time with the Lord and experience something of our Carmelite spirituality. (Thank you to all who have paid and we need final payments in now, please.)
St Teresa of Jesus tells us, “In your silence and stillness, let God’s Spirit within you make itself known.“
With great joy we will be welcoming Ann-Marie, Catherine and Therese into their First Promise at our November 3rd meeting. There will be Mass at 2pm in the Chapel, celebrated by Fr Michael-Thérèse, followed by a shared afternoon tea. We also wish Father a safe return to Christchurch and look forward to his return… in our prayers. 😇
Congratulations again to Sr Lauren on her Profession on the Feast of St Teresa of Jesus, and have included a photo from this grace-filled day. So many people joined Sr Lauren, the main celebrant being Bishop John Adams, along with many priests. Also, a big thank-you to all who helped with welcoming people, reading, serving food and cleaning up!
Our Community is amazing!
