October: Dedicated to the Holy Rosary

OCDS Shield

By Mary O'Boyle OCDS,
Christchurch President

Dear brothers and sisters in Carmel,

Last month, along with our September newsletter, you received excerpts from Letter to OCDS by our Superior General, Father Miguel Márquez Calle, OCD. Please bring this to our coming meeting, your Council believes it important that we give time to absorbing and embracing Fr Miguel’s exhortation. It is fortuitous that the period “Father’s Teaching”, due to Father Michael-Thérèse being on holiday, will give us the opportunity to do this. It would be helpful if we could all familiarise ourselves with it beforehand. Megan, as Community Formator, will lead and guide us.

Please also bring your retreat money to our October meeting if you have not already paid: $230 live in cost, or $110 day only.

October – month of the Holy Rosary:

“The rosary is the book of the blind, where souls see and there enact the greatest drama of love the world has ever known; it is the book of the simple which initiates them into mysteries and knowledge more satisfying than the education of other men; it is the book of the aged, whose eyes close upon the shadow of this world, and open on the substance of the next.
The power of the rosary is beyond description”.

Blessings in Carmel,

Mary O'Boyle, OCDS
